The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine is pleased to congratulate Dr. Raghunath Reddy Bommana on being selected as a Best Poster Presentation recipient at the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association (UPPDA) 2026 Postdoctoral Research Symposium. Dr. Bommana’s poster, titled Topical Tissue Nanotransfection with Ascl1-Brn2-Myt1l Mitigate Thermal Hypoesthesia and Rescue Small Fiber Neuropathy in Murine Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, was recognized as exemplary among his peers and earned him a $500 professional development award. Dr. Bommana conducts his research under the mentorship of Dr. Savita Khanna and Dr. Chandan K. Sen.
This work highlights the Institute’s ongoing commitment to cutting-edge regenerative approaches, exploring the use of tissue nanotransfection technology to address diabetic peripheral neuropathy — a debilitating condition affecting sensation and nerve function. We congratulate Dr. Bommana on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to the continued impact of his research.
