Dr. Burhan Gharaibeh is a teaching professor in Biological Sciences and an adjunct faculty member in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He previously held research faculty position at the Stem Cell Research Center at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
He earned his Ph.D. in Zoology from Texas Tech University, following an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from Yarmouk University.
Dr. Gharaibeh is an active member of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) and the American Association for Anatomy. Dr. Gharaibeh is an active education researcher and winner of Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences Discipline-based Science Education Research (dB-SERC) Leader Award for three years. He studies the impact of use of emerging digital education resources on enhancing anatomy and physiology instruction.
He serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, including HAPS Educator, Advances in Physiology Education, Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Cells, PLOS One, Scientific Reports, Cell Proliferation, Inflammation, and Materials.
